Jan Schulten – born in 1990 – is a sound designer, music producer, and editor. He works for the WDR and has his own studio in Essen. He values great care, preparation, creativity and a clear – inspiring – result. His musical career began at the age of 7 at the Folkwang Music School. First with Remi Filipovic (saxophone) and later with Evert Brettschneider (jazz guitar). After spending time in various rock bands, he discovered his love for electronic music and his song “Satisfy our Hearts” featured in the TV series “Berlin Tag und Nacht”. He came to sound design via electronic music, then did a lot of radio advertising at Studio-B GmbH and finally film. Together with Kilian Cremer and David Schmidt he works as a team for various film projects as a sound designer and sound mixer. He is currently studying Film and Sound: Sound Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund.
